Avoyelles' Monday update: Two cases, no deaths

Mondays are usually unusual in the daily COVID update from the state health department. This one follows that trend, with a net gain of two new cases in Avoyelles since the Sunday report, but with a net loss of five test results in the Monday total.

The state subtracted seven molecular results from Monday's report and added two rapid result tests to the parish's total, leaving it with 64,207 tests administered over the past 12 months. Of that total, 50,661 have been molecular tests and 3,546 have been rapid result tests. The parish had one positive molecular test and one positive rapid result test Monday. There were no additional deaths. The parish's pandemic total is 3,971 cases (3,481/490) and 119 deaths (111/8). The state totals are 437,565 cases and 9,903 deaths.
