Avoyelles Parish daily COVID updates continue to give good news

In the past two COVID updates -- covering four days -- Avoyelles Parish has recorded seven new cases in 433 tests. That is an optimistic 1.6 percent overall positive rate for all COVID tests. Even better, it reflects a lab test positive rate of 1.4 percent and a rapid result positive rate of 1.9 percent.
With total numbers so small, only the most pessimistic would worry that there were almost as many new cases from Monday to Tuesday as there was from Friday to Monday.
As of Tuesday, Avoyelles Parish's pandemic totals were 4,333 cases (3,755/578) and still 123 deaths (115/8). The state totals were 476,467 cases and 10,666 deaths.
