Avoyelles Weekend COVID Update: five cases in 513 tests

Over the weekend the state health department reviewed 513 COVID tests from Avoyelles Parish. There were five positive results.
Even for the mathematically challenged, it is easy to see there were fewer than one case per 100 tests -- a positive rate of under 1 percent. There were no additional deaths over the weekend.
As of Monday, Avoyelles Parish's pandemic totals were 7,077 cases and 177 deaths. Statewide pandemic totals as of Monday were 756,509 cases and 14,480 deaths.
Approximately 42.2 percent of Avoyelles Parish residents had been fully vaccinated as of Monday with 47.2 percent having had at least one dose.
