No new cases of COVID in Avoyelles

For the first time in months, the state health department's daily update reported no new cases of COVID identified in Avoyelles Parish.

Cynics might focus on the fact that there were only 147 tests reviewed for the Friday report, but low numbers of tests have included double-digit increases in the past.

Statewide on Friday there were 332 new cases found in 20,570 tests. There were 43 additional COVID-related deaths.

Avoyelles' pandemic totals as of Friday were the same as they were Thursday: 11,554 cases involving 10,758 individuals with 796 reinfections and 200 deaths.
