Weekend update: Avoyelles gains three COVID cases, no additional deaths

Like an annoying drip in the sink that can never be completely stopped, COVID-19 continues to "drip" new cases in Avoyelles with almost every daily update from the state health department. The number of new cases has been well into the single-digits for the past few weeks.

In the three-day report Monday -- which includes test results from Saturday, Sunday and Monday -- Avoyelles had a net gain of three new cases. There were 127 test results, with four positives among 105 molecular lab tests. There were no new cases in 22 rapid result tests. The state subtracted a previous rapid result test from the parish's totals. As of Monday, Avoyelles' pandemic totals were 3,991 cases (3,492 molecular/499 rapid result) and still 121 deaths (112/9).

The state totals were 443,905 cases and 10,122 deaths.
