Avoyelles COVID update for Aug. 31: six new cases, one additional death

Avoyelles Parish's death toll from coronavirus rose to 45 in Monday's official COVID update from the Louisiana Department of Health. The parish had six new cases, bringing the official number of cases since March to 1,285. Monday's update was based on 30 new test results, bringing the total number of tests conducted to 18,8541. There was a 20 percent positive result in the 30 tests in this update.
