It seems that just when you think COVID is in full retreat, the pandemic takes a turn to remind you of just how persistent the two-year scourge can be.
There were only 10 more active cases of COVID reported in Avoyelles on Tuesday than there had been on Monday, bringing the parish close to end of double-digit daily increases of the past six weeks.
Since this past Thursday, there were 59 additional cases of COVID and one more death in Avoyelles Parish.
It appears the caboose of the Omicron train is in sight.
