As has been the recent trend, Monday had very little change in Avoyelles Parish's COVID numbers.
As might be expected, taking a COVID test was not high on people's "things to do" list for the start of 2021. Of the 222 tests for Jan. 1-3 in Avoyelles Parish, 24 were positive.
Thursday's one-day COVID numbers were not as high as Wednesday's, but still showed a double-digit increase in new cases for Avoyelles Parish.
It looks like 2020 wanted to go out with a bang, delivering Avoyelles Parish its worst single-day report of the nine-month COVID-19 pandemic.
