WORLD RECORD HOLDERS

Firefighters battle high wind and cold weather in addition to the flames at the home of Joshua and Danielle Lyde on New Year’s Eve. The fire at the home, on La. Hwy 1188 outside of Hessmer, started in the attic. The cause is still undetermined but is not deemed “suspicious.” The home sustained major fire, smoke and water damage. OFF TO A GOOD START

Only time will tell if 2018 is a good year or a bad year for this area, but it certainly got off to a good start for Logan (left) and Tristien Dupuy (right) of Marksville when tiny Arya Grace arrived at 2:19 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
