Bunkie man charged with rape; bond set at $1.1M

Anthony Dewayne Texada, 51, of Bunkie has been charged with 1st degree rape and is being held under a $1.1 million bond.

Bunkie police arrested Texada Thursday in connection with the reported rape of a 19-year-old woman on Tuesday. He was booked into Avoyelles Detention Center #1. In addition to the rape charge, which was formerly referred to as aggravated rape, Texada was also charged with sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Texada is a registered sex offender who was convicted of molestation of a juvenile in 2008, according to online records of the Avoyelles Sheriff's Office, State Police and private Offender Radar.com
