14 year old Marksville juvenile arrested on arson charges

Authorities arrested a 14-year-old Marksville boy after he lit several fires inside his home while his family was inside.
On Monday evening, July 9, the Marksville Fire Department contacted the State Fire Marshal's Office to assist with determining the cause of a house fire in the 400 block of Lorio Street in Marksville.
Authorities say fire damage was limited to two bedrooms in the home. At the time of the fire, there were three adults and four children inside.
The family reported hearing the carbon monoxide detector alarm, but they couldn't locate the source. Then they heard the smoke alarm go off.
Authorities say the family found flames in one of the bedrooms. When they extinguished those flames, the family discovered the flames in the second bedroom. Those flames were also put out.
No injuries were reported.
At the scene, authorities say the 14-year-old boy allegedly admitted to setting the fires and hiding the lighter behind a tree. The juvenile was charged with aggravated arson.
