Batchelor man found dead near boat in Old River

No foul play expected

The body of a Batchelor man's body was discovered on Sunday, Feb. 4, in Old River after officials were called to the scene of a boat drifting nearby.
According to the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's Office, a call was received at approximately 1:20 p.m. on February 4, in reference to boat that drifted near the shore of a camp on Porter Monk Road in Batchelor.
Officials stated a man working on a pier near where the boat was discovered, called 911 saying the boat was idling and had drifted near the short of the camp.
At the time of call, it was stated that the boat was unoccupied and still running.
Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s deputies and other agencies responded to investigate and subsequently the body of Jack Bradley, Jr., 59 of Batchelor, was located afloat the river.
No foul play is expected in the incident, however, it is still under investigation by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries.
