Female body discovered in Marksville house fire

The Louisiana State Fire Marshals are investigating a house fire on Overton Street in Marksville that involved one death.
According to Marksville Fire Chief Jerry Bordelon, the fire was report around 12:30 p.m. at 457 Overton Street.
Once on scene, the body of a female was located inside the residence.
At that point, state officials were called in to oversee the investigation.
"The State Fire Marshal has to be in charge now that there is a body discovered in this tragedy," Chief Bordelon said.
No other information on the fire or victim has been released at this time.
