Garbage collection not affected by Mardi Gras

Avoyelles Parish residents are reminded that while schools and many other businesses will be closed for the Mardi Gras holiday this Tuesday, the garbage trucks will be making their regular rounds.

The only holidays that affect the weekly pickup schedules are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

So if your garbage is picked up on Tuesdays, don't forget to take the garbage out Monday night because you thought the truck wouldn't come by until Wednesday.
