Louisiana House Democrats have picked Rep. Johnson to be their new caucus chairman

Louisiana House Democrats have picked Marskville Rep. Robert Johnson to be their new caucus chairman -- a role that could prove pivotal in looming budget negotiations.

"Our caucus is focused on solutions for families whose loved ones will soon lose access to life saving home-based medical services, TOPS, children living in abuse and neglect who will go without intervention, preventing the closure of our hospitals, and addressing the massive backlog of road and bridge construction that is holding our state back,” Johnson said in a news release announcing his unopposed election as minority leader.
