Senior BETA and Junior BETA clubs are school organizations for honor students. The senior club is for high schoolers while the junior organization is for grades 4-8.

Bunkie High School’s BETA Club won 1st Place in Campaign Skit at the high school convention in Baton Rouge last month. However, the club will not send members to compete at the national conventional.

The parish had six Junior BETA Club students qualify during the state convention for younger honor students.

Two members of St. Joseph Catholic School’s Junior Beta Club qualified and are expected to attend the June 13-16 event in Savannah.

The parish also had four more students to place 4th or 5th at the state Junior BETA Convention, earning honors but missing the opportunity to represent the state at the national level.

St. Joseph’s Maci Parker, 6th grade, of Melville placed 5th at the state convention in Handmade Jewelry with a handmade wooden rosary blessed by Father Martin Laird.
