Unrestrained Marksville Man Killed in Crash

A Marksville man was killed in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Hwy 71 south of Alexandria Tuesday (Nov. 19) morning.
Jonathan C. Decuir, 25, was southbound at about 1:20 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a metal guard rail on the left side of the road, traveled across the highway and struck an overpass support column on the right side of the highway.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, State Police Troop E reported.
Decuir was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident is still under investigation.
State Police said drivers should remember that seat belts save lives.
Troop E has investigated 40 fatal accidents with 44 deaths in 2019.
