Bernadine Bordelon, 84, Marksville

Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mrs. Bernadine “Bobbie” Soldani Bordelon on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Rusty Rabalais and Father Paul Kunnumpuram officiating and Father Kenneth Obiekwe will be Co-celebrant. Entombment will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum #3 in Fifth Ward. Services are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, LA.

Mrs. Bordelon, age 84, of Marksville, LA. passed on Thursday, February 8, 2023 at the Hessmer Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wil Henry and Blanche Couvillion Soldani; brothers, Hubert Soldani, Leonard Soldani and Emmanuel Paul Soldani; sister, Lois Lemoine; and one granddaughter, Marie-Noelle Bordelon.

Mrs. Bobbie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Alter Society and the Fifth Ward Homemakers Club. She loved to cook, sew and shop. She was very active in her children’s school functions and Little League games.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Thomas Bordelon, Sr.; sons, Thomas Bordelon, Jr. of Marksville, Marc Bordelon (Missy) of Marksville, Kevin Bordelon (Patty) of Marksville, Dwight Bordelon (Vicki) of St. Mary’s, KS. and Chad Bordelon (Alice) of St. Mary’s, KS.; daughter, Mitzi Smith (Jeff) of Marksville; one sister, Francis Szekely of Moreauville; twenty grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Bonner Bordelon, Evan Bordelon, Nicholas Bordelon, Charles Bordelon, Benjamin Bordelon and Marc Bordelon, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Gaelen Smith and Mathew Bordelon.
