Egg Pocking in Cottonport was such a huge source of entertainment he got involved and was a big promoter of the Cottonport Easter Festival. He was one of the original founders who started the egg pocking in Cottonport. His enjoyment was to seek out the strongest eggs for the pocking contest at Easter.  He would start his search for the strongest eggs in January when he would test over 300 eggs.  His wife often threatened him if he loss his teeth from testing all those eggs, she was out of there. He actually was the Egg Pocking champion in 1999 when Bill Day, of Alexandria, challenged him, on national radio, to pock, and he won. Everyone in Cottonport was so proud of his reign as the Egg Pocking Champion of the year. Every Easter he has volunteered his time and energy to registering all the eggs for the contest. The Town of Cottonport was so grateful for his contribution to the Easter Festival.
