FIFTH WARD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Eline Baudin Roy at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Kurian Zachariah and Rev. Dan O’Connor officiating. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum under the direction of Kramer of Fifth Ward.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.; and will resume on Thursday, from 8 a.m. until time of 10:30 a.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. 
Mrs. Eline Baudin Roy, 85, of Fifth Ward, returned to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 7, 2018 after a valiant battle with an illness. Born on September 8, 1932, Mrs. Eline was a devout Christian who loved going to church. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for over 65 years. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her on a daily basis.
She was fondly known to many as Ms. Eline or Mama Roy and truly loved her large and extended family. Each one held a special place in her heart. Nothing brought her more joy than cooking every holiday meal for her family and friends of the family. No one ever left her home hungry and without a plate of food for later. She was one of the best cooks in our community and patiently taught her cooking secrets to family members so that her recipes would live on at family gatherings. She was the strength and guidance in our family and we were so blessed to have her in our lives.
Mrs. Eline is preceded in death by her husband Ewing Roy, parents Preston and Mildred Baudin, sister Juliette Jeansonne, brother Donald Baudin, sister in law Leona Guillot, and brother-in-laws Newman Bernard, Ivy Guillot Sr. and Wiley Guillot.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Charmaine Roy, Ronald (Rose) Roy, Michael (Christine) Roy, and Rickey (Beverly) Roy; grandchildren, Dennis Owens, Denise Owens, Brad (Rachelle) Roy, Blake (Glory) Roy, Casey (Paul) Dupuis, Tyler (Sierra) Roy, Chanon Kelly, Melissa Roy, Eric Disman and Jennifer Disman; great-grandchildren Kason, Bradly, Bryan, Bethany, Annelise, Adeline, Beau, Blaine, Aubrielle, Bailey, Kenley, Emerald, Jasmine, Brittany, Austin, Haley, Zachary and Zoe; sister in laws, Mae Grace Bernard, Mae Baudin, Patricia Guillot; and brother-in-law, Raliegh Jeansonne.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Dennis Owens, Brad Roy, Blake Roy, Tyler Roy, Austin Keller, and Eric Disman. Honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Roy.
