Eugene Lorde Denesse, Marksville

Eugene Lorde Denesse also known as “Lordgene”, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Eugene was born at home in Buras, Louisiana to the late Leon and Agnes Denesse. He was married to the love of his life, Vivian Barthelemy Denesse, for 60 years and continued to love her after her passing in 2020. He is preceded in death by his sons Eugene Jr.(Melissa) and Jonathan Denesse and his siblings: Leonard Denesse(the late Sylvia), Leander Denesse(the late Benita), and Leonoria(the late Author Barthelemy).

He has two living daughters, Laverne Denesse-Duncan(Kcarl) and Althea Weatherspoon(John). He has 7 grandchildren: Nicole, Ashley(Josh), Courtney(Sean), April, John “Bud”(Meghan), Ada, and Joshua. He has 4 great-grandchildren: Mya, Natalia, Sean Jr., and Ethan. He is preceded in life by his living siblings: Lois Hingle(the late Sammy) and Luciean Denesse(Carol).

If you knew Eugene you knew that he could build anything with his two hands. He was known to many people as Mr. Blue Jean because you could always catch him in blue overalls. His favorite pastime was dancing with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved french music and being around family. He was in the army from 1959 through 1962 and served in the Korean War. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and those he claimed as family. He will be truly missed by all who called him Daddy, Pops and most of all PawPaw.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 334 Acton Road Marksville, La 71351. The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 10:30a.m. The services will begin immediately following the visitation. The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice, Veterans Affairs in Pineville and New Orleans, Mothe’s funeral home in Harvey, Louisiana and Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath for the loving care they provided to Eugene
