Herbert “Buddy” Hess, Jr., Big Bend

Memorial services for Mr. Herbert “Buddy” Hess, Jr. will be held in the Chapel of Hixon Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, LA. on Sunday, July 24, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon Darrell Dubroc officiating. The family request visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m.
Herbert “Buddy” Hess, Jr. entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 16th at Rapides Regional Hospital, Alexandria LA at the age of 78 and was a native of Big Bend where he worked as an electrician by trade and a cattleman.
Mr. Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Sr. and Rena Clark Hess; sisters, Rose Hess Bandy, infant, Baby Hess, and Mazie Hess Farbe (Oscar).
Those left to cherish his memory included the mother of his children, Susan Smith Hess of Moreauville; two children, Michael Wayne Hess (Patricia) of St. Francesville and Lisa Hess Dufour (Jeff) of Echo. Two grandchildren, Justin Dufour (Hailey) and Hunter Hess (Ashley). He is also survived by the enjoyment of his life, his great grandchildren; Brooklyn Bernard, Anneliesa Dufour, Addyson Miller, Stella Dufour, Elleigh Hess, Brett Hess, and Dean Dufour. Special mention to his niece Darlene Gaspard (Pat), nephew Ricky “Bones” Farbe (Faith) and special friend Collen Keith for all the love and care given in his time of need.
The family request visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m. Please stop by to say “see ya later” to our Dad, Ole Pal, Papa, and friend. Buddy will be missed by many, but his memories will forever be in our hearts.
