James Marcotte, 93, Marksville

Funeral services for Mr. James Peter Marcotte will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, LA. with Father Dan O’Connor officiating. Interment will be at Cushman Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mr. Marcotte, age 93, of Marksville, LA. passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Oak Haven Community Care Center in Centerpoint, LA.
Mr. James started as a butcher for Harvey Normand, years later, he started his own dirt, sand, and gravel trucking business. He served as Ward 2 Justice of the Peace from 1956-1972. Later he became employed as the meat plant manager for Mansura High School until he retired at 70 years old. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening and farming.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lionel and Ila Dupuy Marcotte; brother, Russell Marcotte.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Steve Marcotte (Peggy) of Centerpoint and Wayne Marcotte of Marksville, LA.; grandchildren, Morgan Marcotte, Chris Brouillette, Candice Bechman (Greg); great grandchildren, Christopher Bechman, Draven Rogers, Skyler Bachman, Ayden Bechman,

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July28, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, LA.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Charles Marcotte, Russell Marcotte, Jr., Chris Brouillette, Draven Rogers, Christopher Bechman, and William “T-Paul” Gaspard, Jr. Honorary pallbearer honored to serve will be Ayden Bechman.
