James Roy, 61, Denham Springs

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for James "Jim" Ludger Roy, Jr. on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in Church of the Little Flower In Evergreen with Rev. Ramaji Shoury officiating. Inurnment in the church cemetery will follow at a later date under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Melancon Funeral Home on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 4:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. and resume on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Mr. Roy, age 61, of Denham Springs, formerly of Evergreen, passed away at the Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge on Monday, December 13, 2021. He was a Specialty Product deliverer. He was a graduate of Cottonport High School and received a BS in Agricultural Business from LSU. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gremillion Roy; his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Lenora Roy and his maternal grandparents, Orise and Elma Gremillion.
He is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Joy Lancon Roy of Denham Springs; his daughter, Courtney Roy Ranger and husband, Craig, of Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; his son, Justin Michael Roy and wife, Jayne, of Crum Lynne, PA; his father, James L. Roy, Sr. of Evergreen and his three sisters, Christine R. Lemoine and husband, Quincy, Jr., of Cottonport, Stephanie R. Gauthier and husband, Jody, of Bunkie and Veronica R. Decuir and husband, Mark, of Cottonport and his first grandchild, due in the spring.
