HESSMER - Funeral mass for Lela Mae Chenevert of Hessmer will take place at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Hessmer on Friday, July 13, 2018 beginning at 11 a.m. with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating. Burial will commence at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Mausoleum. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and will resume Friday morning at 8 a.m. A rosary will also be held Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Lela Chenevert, age 90, passed away at the Hessmer Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. She was born on January 27, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chenevert; daughter, Debra Burke; sister, Zanella McManus; brother, James Guillot; parents, Eustis and Marie Guillot.
She is survived by her daughter, Ramona Ducote of Hessmer; brother, Alfred “Fred” Guillot of California; grandchildren, Brandon Burke, Melissa Guillot, Terry Ducote, Jr., and Shelia Ducote; great-grandchildren, Eric, Zack, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Nick, Zachary, and Drake; and great-great-grandchildren, Gracie, Hunter, Brayden, Jace, Bentley, Chandler, and Carter.
