Ray Mayeux, 82, Simmesport

Funeral Mass for Ray Anthony Mayeux of Simmesport will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Simmesport with Fr. Paul officiating. Entombment will be held at the Christ the King Mausoleum.

Ray Mayeux, age 82, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at his home in Simmesport. Mr. Ray worked as a lineman and serviceman for 28 years with Cleco until his retirement. He also raised cattle and was often seen on his tractor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Mary Dianna Mayeux; children: Joseph Mayeux (Renee), Keith Mayeux (Sandra), Cynthia Gremillion (Abbey), Kenneth Mayeux (Connie), and Melissa Mayeaux (Larry); 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Joseph Mayeux, Keith Mayeux, Kenneth Mayeux, Randy Mayeux, Cameron Mayeux, and Josh Mayeux; and crossbearer will be Caleb Mayeux.

He was preceded in death by his father, Blume Mayeux; mother, Cora Mayeux Ducote; stepfather, Alvin J. Ducote; grandchild, Larry Mayeaux, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Emmitt Guillot & John Guillot, III; brothers, John Harold Mayeux and Donald Ducote; paternal grandparents, Louise & Lada Talley Mayeux; maternal grandparents, Florian & Norma Jeansonne.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 10:00pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport and rosary prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until 11:00am on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport.
