Ronald J. Guillot, 66, of Fifth Ward

A service celebrating the life of Ronald J. Guillot will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Life Point Community Church in Mansura, with Rev. Jacob Crawford officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until
time of service on Saturday. 

Ronald J. Guillot, 66, of Fifth Ward, passed away on Tuesday February 19, 2019, surrounded by loved ones at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice, Lafayette. 
He is preceded in death by his father, J.T. Guillot. 
 
Ronald was a long time, well known resident of Fifth Ward, La. Where after retiring from Walmart, he ran several businesses including A/R Novelty, A/R Silk Flowers / Fireworks. A hard-working man, sometimes working from the early am till well past dark. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and anything outdoors. Fishing, shrimping, hunting, he loved doing it all. Ronald was a loving father, a caring son and brother, and a giving friend. After all his years of hard work Ronald retired to his beloved camp in Grand Cheiner, La. He spent the last years of his life doing what he loved, catching crabs, shrimp, and BIG redfish. 
 
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Kyle Guillot and his wife Rachel of Fifth Ward, and Ashley Guidry and her husband CJ of Lafayette; his mother, Antionette Guillot of Fifth Ward; one brother, Tedrick Guillot and his wife Michelle of Fifth Ward; four sisters, Marie Mayberry and her husband James of Dupont, Beverly Ducote and her husband Calvin of Fifth Ward, Suzanne Ducote and her husband Charles of Belldeau, LA, and Maxine Lambert and her husband Steve of Mansura; grandchildren, Jodi Lapointe and Kyle Guillot, Jr;  one great granddaughter, Erabella, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The Guillot Family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their amazing support and care. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in his name to The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice at 923 West Pinhook Rd, Lafayette, LA 70503.
