Shirley Lewis Williams

Funeral services for Shirley Lewis Williams will be Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the First St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery in the Bayhills under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Williams, age 84, of Bunkie, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 in her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elidee and booker T. Lewis, Sr.; her brothers, John Wesley Lewis, Booker T. Lewis, Jr. and Michael Lewis and her sisters, Frances Lewis and Robena Lewis.

She is survived by her daughter, Markita Hutcherson and husband, Eric, of Las Vegas, NV; three sons, James Stewart of Houston, TX and Keith and Kirk Gardner of Cleveland, OH; three sisters, Maxine Russell of Bunkie, Eola Hobbs of Bunkie and Diana Sheppard of Bunkie; two brothers, Walter Lewis of San Diego, CA and Melvin Lewis of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Keith Hall, Marcia Gassaway and Maria Gassaway and four great grandchildren, My'Linn Gassaway-Gore, Nazir Wilson, Nyaela Wilson and Malayah Gassaway.
