Truitt Shannon, 83, Effie

Funeral service for Mr. Truitt Earl Shannon will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Aubry Tyler and Bro. Richard Rambo officiating. Interment will be at French Cemetery in Effie, LA. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mr. Shannon, age 83, of Effie, LA., passed away at Valley View Nursing Home on Sunday, January 1, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shelby, Sr. and Rowena Penecost Shannon; brother, Shelby Taylor Shannon, Jr.; sister, Eddie Faye Dunn.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Verna Shaze Shannon; 2 sons, J.P. Shannon and Dino Shannon; 4 sister-in-law’s, Bertie Shannon, Jo Ann Shaze, Jacquie Shaze, and Elaine Shaze; 4 grandchildren, Shelby Shannon, Amanda Woolard, Samantha Shannon, William Shannon; 3 great grandchildren, Nathan Shannon, Elliot Woolard, and Daniel Block.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 until time of the service.
