BATON ROUGE, La. – Longtime Major League Baseball executive Mel Didier, a baseball and football letterman at LSU and a former Fighting Tiger assistant football coach, died Sunday night in Phoenix.

Marksville High School Tigers players and coaches surround the coveted Catskin banner after defeating the Bunkie Panthers, 44-0, in the season opener for both teams on Sept. 1. Marksville now holds a six-game winning streak in the traditional rivalry game that was put on hold the past two years due to scheduling conflicts.
