Three of Avoyelles Parish’s five high school girls basketball teams advanced in the playoffs after Thursday night wins, with one of the local cage squads falling by one point in overtime.
It seems that just when you think COVID is in full retreat, the pandemic takes a turn to remind you of just how persistent the two-year scourge can be.
There were only 10 more active cases of COVID reported in Avoyelles on Tuesday than there had been on Monday, bringing the parish close to end of double-digit daily increases of the past six weeks.
